Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference.

Sweden's got a much better healthier attitude to prepping than we do in Australia. Most rural Aussies prep for disasters in some form and many of us have a DIY mentality. I've found there's a tendancy for non-prepping Australians to think we are drongos. I don't tell others I'm a prepper because they will most likely think there's something wrong with me. I'm able to stay under the radar, so to speak by being on the land. What Sweden is doing is fantastic, I wish our country would get on board too.

This is great, but I think we can all become more resilient without the fear of war to motivate the masses. we have, as a world, been incredibly peaceful for generations now, and the fear of war may not be the right motive to get people prepping.

I find that starting small is the way to go. simple things like having a fire extinguisher in your car and home. the threat of losing ones personal property, with all the sentiment and emotion and high personal cost is how i got my family onboard. fear of losing photos and important documents was all she needed, not an incomprehensible threat of a war.

And once you get them with that, its easy to lead them down the rabbit hole of prepping. That also helps to remove the perceived irrationality of prepping from outsiders.

I'm the complete opposite. I never talk to my kids about prepping and rarely talk to the mrs about it. I prep for them so they don't have to worry about it. The fact that my adult children are more than capable in the bush is a bonus.

I don't think that you have been keeping up with the news GP, there are still wars going on overseas, & the Australian government are supporting genocide in two overseas countries, West Papua, & Myanmar. Trump is looking towards starting a 3rd world war if their economy slumps any further. That could involve us! But I agree, there are other good reasons for being prepared.
Keith.

Australian government fails to provide emergency advice for citizens despite pledging ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’ alliance with US.

To date I have been unable to find an civil defence preparation advice for Australian citizens, this is the only thing I have found so far:
Australian Red Cross

Anyone else got anything on this for Australian citizens?
Keith.
