My BOV is a 2017 Triton dual cab ute, 6sp turbo diesel. It's fast, economical, drives well, rated to tow 3 tonne and will get from home to the retreat and back on a full tank. It's capable enough for the terrain I might need to take it. It is standard apart from some factory extras like tow bar, roll bar, tonneau cover, tub liner. I keep a first aid kit, recovery kit, entrenching tool, fire extinguisher, tyre pump, tyre repair kit, torch and a few other bits in it.

Most importantly, it is expendable. It's job is to get us and those supplies we keep at home to our retreat. Anything more is a bonus. I don't have so much invested in it that I would push an untenable situation to try to hold onto it. Attitudes like that might get you killed.
Good one Frostbite.

Last of the GQ Patrols,turboed td42 diesel,3 inch lift,front air locker diff,front winch,duel batt,engel fridge,long range tank,2 way radio,roof rack.
This vehicle is rust free & all bearings ( wheel & unis) ,belts hoses etc have been renewed. These vehicles may not be as fuel efficient as the newer 4wd's but they are proven to be as reliable as a hammer.
The GQ & my decked out solar powered off road camper trailer = perfect long term bug out rig.
