Sometimes the hostile environment comes to you. Especially if you are static in a well setup retreat, even one with a new saw mill.

Your comments are contradictory. How can you not place yourself in a hostile environment and still be a predator?

This forum is 90% dreamers and 10% doers. I'm in the 10%.

I do have a family to protect. Two of whom are ex army, one of whom spent a fair bit of time in a very bad place overseas.
There you go again dreamer, the more you say the more you prove your the dreamer, no experience, but like to quote the experiences of some one else that has got some.

Your making a fool of yourself, get a life, it's people like you, the rest of us are prepping against because you can't get through life without bagging others.

Re: Bugging Out Alone. What is your choice & why?

I missed the last bit of your reply, about knowing better being an ex digger.

l survived! And I'll continue to survive until l drop from old age, and I'll guarantee you don't have the years behind you that l have or the back ground.

It all depends on your environment, if you don't know what's going on around your turf you won't last long traps an snares ain't just fer tucker.

Re: Bugging Out Alone. What is your choice & why?

Don't place yourself in a hostile environment, if you are, your in the wrong place and don't know the basics of survival.

Your comment puts you on the back foot brother, you need to be the predator, not the victim.

Defence may work for a while in the worse case, but sooner than later you WILL need to get serious, this forum is about survival l thought.

If you have family to protect ( an l don't) it goes back to tribal survival, strength in numbers.

Re: Bugging Out Alone. What is your choice & why?

A .22 using sub sonic's is enough for anyone to get a feed anywhere.

It will take down a roo at 150 metres, how do l know? I do it every day and I'm ex military and pro shooter.

It's quiet, cheap to run, and light, just needs some training in ballistics and ya can stockpile a ton of rounds.

Nothing beats trapping, l started rabbit trapping at 12yo, and picking dead wool in the droughts to get my start, that was in the fiftys l still use snares and hunt with throwing axe and never been hungry.
