Thanks for the comments V&V. The grass under the containers in very short. It doesn't get any sun to grow. We mow all around the containers and cabin regularly. I don't have leaf guard in the gutters, but I have filled all the gaps between the corrugated metal so no embers can enter the wall cavity....

I'd rather gradual global warming, that we can prepare and adapt for, than a sudden nuclear apocalypse caused by nuclear power stations. Disasters in Russia, America and Japan have shown we can't be trusted with nuclear energy. Nuclear isn't a viable alternative to coal because of the massive risk. ...

The cabin was a kit from a garage company. The main frame is doubled up, back to back, to support the roof during periods of snow. All the walls are lined with insulation batts. The roof has an insulation blanket and the ground floor bedrooms also have insulation batts above the ceiling.
